Gift Card Terms & Conditions

E Gift Card Terms & Conditions (New Zealand)

Issuer

  • eGift Cards are issued by Back Country Foods Limited a New Zealand–registered company.
  • By purchasing or using an eGift Card, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
  • The E-Gift card is only valid in New Zealand

Use of eGift Cards

  • eGift Cards can be redeemed in this store. 
  • They cannot be redeemed for cash, withdrawn, or used to purchase other gift cards, except where required by law.

Validity Period

  • eGift Cards are valid for five years from the date of issue.
  • The expiry date will be clearly stated at the time of purchase. Any unused balance after the expiry date will be forfeited.

Balance & Redemption

  • If the purchase price is less than the available balance, the remaining balance will stay on the card until expiry.
  • If the purchase price exceeds the available balance, the difference must be paid with another accepted payment method.

Lost or Stolen eGift Cards

  • Treat eGift Cards like cash. If lost, stolen, or misused, they will not be replaced or refunded.
  • Back Country Foods Limited is not responsible for unauthorised use of an eGift Card once issued.

Refunds & Returns

  • eGift Cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • If goods purchased with an eGift Card are returned, any refund will be applied back to an eGift Card where possible.
  • Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Fair Trading Compliance

  • All representations about eGift Cards, including expiry dates, balances, and use, will be made in accordance with the Fair Trading Act 1986.
  • We aim to ensure all information provided is accurate and not misleading.

Fraud & Errors

  • Back Country Foods Limited reserves the right to cancel or refuse an eGift Card if we reasonably believe it has been obtained fraudulently or issued in error.

Business Purchases

  • Where eGift Cards are purchased for business purposes (e.g. bulk orders for staff rewards, client gifts, or resale), the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply.
  • Such purchases are considered business-to-business transactions and are subject only to these Terms & Conditions and any other applicable laws.

Changes to Terms

  • These Terms may be updated from time to time, provided such changes comply with New Zealand consumer law.
  • The Terms in place at the time of purchase will apply to each eGift Card issued.
